Strive for a sense of tranquility inside and out. Get the full treatment. Exfoliating skin improves tone, unclogs pores, stimulates cell growth and reduces wrinkling. Apply a skin or body scrub with a loofah, sponge or sisal cloth twice a week in the bath or shower. Rinse well. Next: Sip a cleansing cup of white tea. White tea is harvested from young leaves and minimally processed--white or Yinzhen tea packs three times the antioxidant power of green tea, long touted for removing toxins and other impurities from your system. Step three: Try Yoga. Assume the lotus position, the spinal twist, and then the warrior pose. Breath through the nose counting three as you inhale and exhale. This improves posture and breathing. In the lotus pose fold one leg over the other and hold your hands over your knees with palms facing up. Inhale and exhale deeply for three seconds each. To position yourself for the twist, sit on floor and wrap on leg slightly bent over the other with bottom leg folded towards the front. Slightly twist your spine looking over your shoulder but do not over twist (for safety sake!) The leg crossing over the front has one arm resting over it while the other arm is straight with the finger tips holding the body balanced on the floor edge. In the spinal twist position, breathe deeply and slowly before gently releasing twist. Reverse leg positions to repeat on the opposite side. This increases spine flexibility & helps promote youthfulness by increasing nerve and blood circulation! In the warrior pose, with arms extended parallel with floor, keep palms down and arms out to sides. This pose strengthens legs and aligns back. Step four: Schedule a specific time on your calendar for your chosen at-home spa treatment. Keep everything you will need in a basket. When ready to begin, turn off the phone, close the shades, play some mood music & light a scented candle. Enjoy time for you! It's time to pamper your delicate spirit!
